| There may be occasions where you need to
amend the details on a Birth, Death or Marriage Certificate. Changes may include;
- Adding information that may not have been known at the time of
registration;
- Correcting a spelling mistake on the certificate; or
- Modifying information that was incorrectly supplied.
In cases where the Registry has made the error, a replacement certificate will be issued in exchange for
the old certificate.
Death Certificate – Matter Referred To Coroner
If you have received a finding for a cause of death from the coroner and you need to receive an updated death certificate, please contact the Registry. If you have previously had a death certificate issued to you without the cause of death, a certificate with the cause of death will be issued at no additional cost. If you have the original certificate it will need to be returned before a new one can be issued. If you no longer have the original certificate please contact the Registry. This also applies when a coroner has amended details relating to the death.
