Our new web-based application form provides parents and guardians with a convenient way to register a child's birth online.
This reduces processing times and increases efficiency and accuracy of birth records. It is linked to the online birth certificate application so parents can register and apply for a birth certificate at the same time, in one simple transaction.
Parents can preview the information before submitting. Once an application is started, there is a unique reference code that can be used to track progress.
It's simple. When a parent or guardian submits an online registration, the Registry will do all the necessary
checks to see if the registration can be finalised. If all the information is correct, a birth registration is created. If the parent or guardian also applied for a birth certificate, this will print automatically once a successful birth registration has been made in the Registry system.
The online birth registration system makes services more accessible and easier to use for the broader NSW community.
New parents will receive a flyer in the parent pack given to them by the hospital that covers the simple steps for registering baby. The registration can be submitted on a number of devices including a tablet, desktop, laptop and some mobile phones. The flyer replaces the paper birth registration statement, and is available in multiple languages. Find out more:
