We require both parties to attend a marriage interview which you can arrange using our online booking form below. At the interview, a marriage officer will assist you with the paperwork and planning for your ceremony. Your wedding date must be at least one month after you lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM).

The ceremony fee can be refunded if a notice to cancel is received at least 14 days before the ceremony date or Notice of Intended Marriage expiry date.
If a notice to cancel or change the date of a marriage ceremony is received less than 14 days prior to the ceremony date, a refund will not usually be issued. For more information see our Refunds Policy - PDF
The Notice of Intended Marriage Lodgement fee is not refundable.
Both parties must provide their original birth certificate and/or a current passport. If a passport cannot be provided, other current photo ID can be accepted.
If you have been previously married, you must provide evidence of the termination of the marriage in the form of an original of your final divorce papers or a death certificate (if you have been widowed).
All documents must be originals. If they are not in English, a qualified interpreter must have translated them. The wedding ceremony date and time will be booked once all of these documents have been provided.
It is essential the wedding party arrives 15 minutes prior to the appointed ceremony time and report to reception. The ceremony takes around 15 to 20 minutes where:
You are legally required to have two witnesses at your wedding ceremony to witness and sign the marriage certificate. The Registry does not supply witnesses.
