| Current Processing Times:
Routine birth, death and marriage certificate applications may take up to 6 weeks. Urgent applications are currently taking 5 working days to process.
New registrations are taking (birth 7 weeks, marriage 10 weeks & Change of Name applications 4 weeks) to process, including the issue of your certificates.
The Registry apologises for any inconvenience. Registry records are historic documents and
can usually only be amended to reflect information that was
correct at the time of the event. Names or addresses of parents,
their ages, occupations or places of birth or marriage will
not be updated to reflect more recent circumstances.
If a certificate contains an error you wish to
have corrected, documentation confirming the spelling of names,
the correct date of events etc. must be supplied to the Registry.
To correct a certificate, complete a Application To Correct An Entry form and send it to the Registry. Photocopies of documents that confirm the correct information should be sent to the Registry with the form.
Please note the Application To Correct An Entry form cannot be used to change a child's name or to add or remove father's details.
Certificates that contain incorrect information must
be surrendered to the Registry.
