Free certificate offer ending soon   Australia Post Applications

Standard fees for certificates will apply from 14.02.12

Couples marrying or registering a relationship between 14.02.11 and 13.02.12 were eligible to apply for a free certificate. Fees for urgent or commemorative still apply.

Couples applying to register a relationship after 16.01.12 incur a normal certificate fee, since the registration cannot be made until 28 days after the application.

Postal applications
Photocopies must be certified as true copies of the original by a Qualified Witness (eg, Justice of the Peace; Notary Public; Legal Practitioner with current practising certificate; and/or a person authorised to administer an Oath under S. 26 of the Oaths Act 1900.)

Customer warning - private certificate companies
We recommend official NSW certificates be obtained directly from us or participating Australia Post outlets. Please direct complaints with private certificate companies to Fair Trading.
